Founder and Key Contact Person

Megat Faizal Musa completed his Bachelor of Commerce and Management Degree in Accounting and Development Economics at Lincoln University, Canterbury, New Zealand and Qualifying Examination of Chartered Accountant.  He is a Chartered Accountant, and he holds a valid public practicing license with Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).  Further, he is an ASEAN CPA approved by ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountants Coordinating Committee and a Company Secretary (CoSec) with a public practicing license of Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM/SSM), therefore qualifying him to act as sitting secretary to all legal entities incorporated under Companies Act 2016, Act 1965 and other relevant Acts.

He commenced his professional career as an external auditor at Coopers & Lybrand in New Zealand, the predecessor firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) before returning to Malaysia to serve the same firm and assumed similar role in the Kuala Lumpur Office.  He subsequently joined PwC Singapore for another several years as an external auditor.  He was primarily involved in auditing of multi discipline industries mainly in manufacturing, banking & finance, insurance, plantation, services and trading of large and listed corporations and SMEs.  Occasionally, he performed special assignments at government & private agencies in Singapore, particularly at Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), foreign banks, multinational companies and Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) as directed by the firm. His other responsibilities at PwC were complex consolidation accounting, US GAAP & consol pack reporting, profit forecasting, due diligence, restructuring, financial valuation, forensic/investigative accounting, Islamic wakaf/wakif matters, loans review, internal audit work review and assessment of internal controls.  He had a total of over 10 years of audit experience.

Upon returning from Singapore, he had joined a private limited manufacturing company in Kuala Lumpur for 5 years and he was given the mandate in managing financial restructuring & recovery work and performing members’ voluntary liquidation (“MVL”) as initiated by the directors/shareholders of the company.  The MVL was conducted in strict compliance with the provisions of the Companies Act.  Tangible assets were disposed at fair value, existing sales contracts with customers and agency/distribution contracts with foreign suppliers were sold to willing buyers, recovery of receivables (including long outstanding debts), obtaining the necessary income tax clearance and liabilities (including contingent liabilities) were fully redeemed, in turn, excess funds together with unsold assets were distributed and returned to the shareholders.  The company was eventually ceased its operation, dissolved and struck off from the registrar of companies.

Upon completion of the MVL, he then served a German multinational & manufacturing corporation in electronic/electrical industry for another period of 12 years.  He was responsible in managing the downstream operation in Malaysia and Singapore, e.g., overseeing the entire operation including but not limited to managing inventory, accounting/finance and compliance functions, fund raising, appointment of distributors/agents, cross border logistics and business development.  During his service at the company, he had dealt with large public listed companies, SMEs, and government authorities.  Further, he had formed strategic alliance with a Malaysian listed corporation in undertaking mass market distribution of FMCG (Medical & Healthcare) in Malaysia and Singapore territories.

He has over 28 years of professional and commercial experience and currently plays an active and leading role on a full-time basis at his public practice firm in George Town, Penang.  He manages clients’ affairs in Penang Mainland, Penang Island, Kedah, Perak, Kuala Lumpur/Selangor and Singapore.
